COSTA BRAVA & EMPORDÀ WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER FOR DESTINATION WEDDINGS
EST. 2018
AVAILABLE IN SPAIN
Costa Brava and the Empordà are basically cheating: cliffside vows, Mediterranean breeze, stone masias, cypress trees, and that warm late-day light that makes everything look like a film still.
Nature and elegance, a weekend that feels like a getaway, not a production.
Photos that capture the real energy — the “beautiful chaos” of your people doing their thing.
ABOUT ME
I’m Rose Crenes, Barcelona-based and working with international couples across Spain. My style blends documentary and editorial: I’ll give you images that feel cinematic, but I won’t turn your wedding into a photoshoot unless you want that — and even then, we keep it real.
Why international couples love getting married in Costa Brava and Empordà
This region is perfect when you want Spain, but quieter, more intimate, and more “slow luxury” than a big city.
It’s ideal for:
Multi-day weddings (welcome dinner, wedding day, relaxed recovery brunch)
Outdoor ceremonies with dramatic landscapes
Masia weddings where the venue is the vibe
Costa Brava doesn’t need forcing. The landscape already does the heavy lifting.
MY STYLE: DOCUMENTARY HEART, EDITORIAL EYE
My job is to:
Photograph the truth: hugs, nerves, speeches that go off-script
Keep portraits effortless (movement, connection, no “stand here and suffer”)
Translate the feeling into images that stay alive over time
The Costa Brava timeline that actually works
This region is all about light and flow. I’ll help you plan a photography-friendly rhythm:
Ceremony when the sun isn’t trying to end you
Portraits during golden hour (fast, calm, no vanishing for an hour)
Dinner + party photographed like it felt — not like a staged recap
FILM PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE EMPORDÀ
Film here hits different: grain + stone textures + warm air + candlelit dinners. If you love imagery that feels tactile and timeless, film is a beautiful add-on.
SOME TIPS TO START
Planning tips for international couples getting married in Girona
-
Many international couples choose legal paperwork at home and do a symbolic ceremony in Spain, because Spain can be bureaucratic for non-residents. (A planner will guide you either way.)
-
Girona is destination-friendly, but vendor English varies—having a bilingual planner can make everything smoother.
-
Girona is a rural area, and distances can sometimes be a bit long, so creating a timeline tailored to your accommodation and that of your guests is a must. Choosing a venue that includes accommodation is always a good idea.
-
Yes, I regularly work on the Costa Brava and l'Empordà, in Girona, at international weddings. I've worked at many of the best wedding venues in this area, and I know its most special spots, which I can guide you through to discover this region and create incredible memories.
-
The Costa Brava is a magical place to get married. Steeped in history, with unique cuisine and that Mediterranean touch that makes it unforgettable. Cliffs, castles, farmhouses, and a special light make the Costa Brava the perfect setting for an amazing elopement.
-
The Mediterranean climate offers incredible sunshine for most of the year. Spring and autumn are the best times to celebrate a wedding in l'Empordà and the Costa Brava, but summer is also a great option since, being in the north of the country, the summer is a bit milder. The venues are fully prepared for any unexpected weather, whether it's rain or relentless sunshine, so you can celebrate your special day without worry.
